Title: The Egyptian Temple
Description: The Cathedral of Notre Dame is of course devoted to the Virgin Mary and because of her unique status in Catholicism, as the "Mother of God," she becomes, by default, the queen of heaven. This position is very clearly expressed by John's Revelation when the virgin appers as a great wonder in heaven, with child, about to give birth to Christ the man child. A close examination of the details in this vision of John's will show it to be full of astronomical symbolism. Thus it is my intent here to show that the story was not totally John's, but rather, a story that emanates from a much more ancient source of documents from ancient Egypt, foremost among them, The Book of the Dead.
